We are almost done with STAR testing. Third grade will test on Tuesday ONLY. Second grade will test on Tuesday AND Wednesday. Remember to have a really great breakfast every morning, at least 8 hours of sleep, stir the brain in the morning by reading a fun book or magazine article, and arrive to school on time so the brain is better prepared! Below is a video reminder of Here are some ideas to help with the pet project...
The STAR test is next week! Since we have been working so hard in class and I have seen great growth over the last couple of weeks, for homework their will be a project reinforcing measurement of capacity. If you need any assistance in practicing these concepts please feel free to email me. Also, attached to this blog post will be worksheets you can download to further explore capacity. Additionally, check out the videos on the CLASSROOM WORK BLOG, under Math2 and Math3. Even though STAR test questions are not being sent home PLEASE don't forget to keep practicing those multiplication facts and addition/subtraction facts.
This is to teach you how to make a slideshow. We want to make one blog post with lots of pictures, but we do not want to post one at a time. So lets make a slideshow that shows all of my pictures. First, push NEW POST. Next, drag down PARAGRAPH and tell me what your slideshow is about. Then, you need to push the MULTIMEDIA tab. Drag down the SLIDESHOW button (with the butterfly) below your paragraph. Click on the image and have a parent help you upload the pictures you want. Don't forget to push the PUBLISH LIVE button so all your friends can enjoy. Below is an example of a slideshow. THANK YOU to all the parents who helped make our field trip today to the Philharmonic possible. Special thanks to Mark Gogolewski and Alissa Morganti for volunteering. Our kids did amazing today and showed great interest in the orchestra. Their favorite was the last song from the soundtrack of Harry Potter. Below you will find our spelling words for this week. Homework is posted on the Documents page, and the Newsletter is also posted. Please be sure to read the email that went out this morning to get a better idea about STAR testing. Additionally, you will find a check-off list on the Resources page will be a great guide to let you know what is on the STAR test as well as end of the year goals for the last report card. We have been studying different types of folk dancing and we decided to make a stop animation video of our learning. Students created leprechaun puppets and moved their body parts a little bit at a time to create our video. Enjoy!
**Third Grade: It was brought to my attention that one set of the homophones in the curriculum's guide is spelled incorrectly.**
The list below is correct (four should be flour) and the list sent by email is incorrect

Since the class did such a great job writing persuasive letters to me or Ms. Camille, I decided that they deserved at least one item they were trying to get...
PAJAMA DAY!
So on Monday March 11th, everyone should wear their pajamas to school. But don't forget to bring snow clothes too, so everyone can go outside and get some playtime in the snow!
Below check out our photos from our measurement projects. Students had to measure yarn from 1 inch all the way up to 12 inches. Then, they created artwork out of it and made sure to label each piece they glued down. Also, check out our line dancing video as well!
